Hardywood Bourbon Barrel Aged Barleywine is our bold take on an already classic robust beer style. After careful barrel aging our barleywine recipe, the finished beer imparts a deep mahogany hue and complex flavors and aromas. Cherry, hazelnut, and chocolate aromatic notes erupt from the glass preparing you for flavors of candied apple, toffee, and bourbon. Using exclusively A. Smith Bowman’s bourbon barrel acquired from their Fredricksburg distillery, the fresh bourbon character combines with the sweet notes of the Maris Otter malt to warm and soothe. A blend of both 4-year and 12-year bourbon barrels was used to provide additional complexity and depth of flavor.
