Brewed in the style of the farmhouse ales of Belgium's southern countryside, Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin utilizes a blend of rye, wheat and barley in the grain bill, earthy flavoring hops and a classic saison yeast. Ripe, flame-roasted Virginia sugar pumpkins and brown sugar provide this beer with a hearty backbone. Freshly ground ceylon cinnamon, whole Grenada nutmeg, whole Madagascar clove and whole allspice harmonize with pounds of freshly sliced ginger root.
Best With: Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin pairs beautifully with game birds, particularly quail, dove, and turkey - preferably fried. A great accompaniment to butternut squash soup or oven baked yams, Farmhouse Pumpkin is also right at home with spiced pies, especially bourbon pecan pie, apple pie and, of course, pumpkin pie with fresh whipped cream.
