It’s a double release day! Call Me Hazy, Dont Call Me Crazy and a fresh release of Tropic Like It’s Hot are available in both taprooms.

🍻 Call Me Hazy, Don’t Call Me Crazy is an IPA bursting with white grape, orange peel, ripe peach, and grapefruit aromatics derived from a triple dry-hopping dose of Citra, Galaxy, and El Dorado hops. Malt sweetness and citrus flavors finish with a soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Tropic Like It’s Hot is back to celebrate Virginia Pride. Our sour fruited ale features passionfruit, pineapple, hibiscus, and blueberry which lends to the pink-red hue. Grab a 4pk or two for the weekend, or enjoy a beer with us today.

We are honored to be releasing Sour Aesthetics, a sour ale brewed with peach, guava, and a twist of lime in collaboration with @futurelovelabs, @uncapeverything, and @iamcmbryant, this Sunday, September 19th. Sour Aesthetics is a portrait of freedom, creativity, and art on a grand scale. In addition to the release at our Ownby lane location, we will have a curated art show, @jaybordeaux with music, live art performances from @skinnyyhendrixx, and limited edition merch. There will also be a silent auction for a collaboration painting from @jaybordeaux and @theartofcjs, with proceeds to go to @art_180. The event starts at 4pm, and is free to attend! We hope to see you this Sunday for this amazing collab🍻

Who is Hardywood: Paige Kinder

Our next Hardywood team spotlight is shining bright on our Events and Program Coordinator, Paige! Paige has been with Hardywood for two years, starting in our taproom serving and assisting in revamping our tour program, to currently planning public and private events with our events team. Paige’s favorite Hardywood memory is being the unofficial opener for our Zane Lamprey comedy show - shes considering taking her own stand up act on the road (jokes 🤪) and her favorite Hardywood beer is Cream Ale with Salt and Lime. She does her best as a single plant mom and she is an obsessive dog mom 🐶 Paige loves to travel! Her favorite trip was to Iceland where she saw the Northern Lights 🌌 some of her hobbies include trashy reality TV (current obsession is Bachelor in Paradise) and reading (2021 book recommendation is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo 📚) Fun fact: she met Mark Wahlberg outside of Fenway park (swipe for pics!) is a HUGE fan of the Fast and Furious franchise, and has her masters degree in Public History. Drop your comment below on which Founding Father could drink GBS all night long and still wake up to fight the British in the morning - Paige’s choice is Ben Franklin or John Jay (correct answers only!)

Did you hear the news?! 🌟We are incredibly honored that our Christmas Island won bronze in the Experimental Wood-Aged Beer category at this year’s @greatamericanbeerfestival. Special shoutout to our talented brewing team for bringing this recipe to life. If you haven’t gotten to try this award-winning beer, have no fear! Christmas Island will be back in the GBS Complete Set this year, which go on sale to the public on Wednesday, September 15th at 9am. Christmas Island is our classic Gingerbread Stout aged in Caribbean rum barrels and finished with toasted coconut. An incredibly indulgent stout, perfect for any time of year.

It’s a BEAUTIFUL day for drinking beer! Saturdays at Hardywood are looking pretty good right now 😎

🎤 we have a full day of music at both locations today. @tre.charlz + @dnarvamusic + The Spiral Light Band will all be on the outdoor stage at Hardywood Richmond this afternoon with music starting at 1pm. Out of Uniform Will take the West Creek stage at 3pm, with @wkndrmusic closing the night after.

🏈🦃 we will be showing the Virginia Tech vs. Middle Tenn. game at both locations today, with kick-off at 2pm.

🍕The Hardywood Pizza Kitchen at our Ownby location has an amazing pizza special for you this weekend featuring a Pancetta and Taleggio Pie stacked with Taleggio mornay, pancetta, charred leeks, & cointreau raisins (don’t knock it ‘til you try it - trust us)

We are excited to be partnering with @rvafilmmusicfest for tonight’s music spotlight at our downtown location! We have an amazing line up of great bands on the outdoor and barrel room stages starting at 6pm. General admission is free to the public, with VIP tickets available online. We are so excited to host our West Creek 5K for ALS in person this year back in Goochland for a great cause we are incredibly passionate about. Run, walk, stroll, or roll with us on October 10th at 9am for a 5K route in West Creek and then end with your favorite cold Hardywood beer at the finish line. Can’t make it in person, but still want to participate? Join us virtually through Team Hardywood on Strava! All proceeds benefit the cutting-edge research at the ALS Therapy Development Institute (als.net) #ENDALS #BREWWITHPURPOSE #RUNWITHHARDYWOOD. Athletes of all ages and abilities welcome.
