We play mostly Old-Time Appalachian music with its roots in pre-bluegrass dance music. The jam is open to players of varying levels and ages who play acoustic stringed instruments, such as fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, and bass. It is led by several experienced musicians, and we aim to play outside when the weather cooperates.

Part-time musician, full-time hot mess, Christina Louise is creating considerable buzz since debuting her full band in 2025. Mixing in her southern gothic original songs w/ folk/soul/blues covers, she’s bringing an afternoon of solo acoustic music to the Hardywood deck stage that’s not to be missed!

Jonathan Facka is a songwriter from Richmond, Virginia. He takes inspiration from his real life other tragic experiences. With a devotion to being honest in writing and a confidence to convey his true feelings. His new album takes you through feelings of anger, love, rejection and hope before leaving the listener wanting more by delivering them a genuine dose of reality.

Step back in time as Suggesting Rhythm recreates 4 legendary Grateful Dead performances from the Richmond Coliseum in the 1980s. Each show is a surprise — you won’t know which epic concert we’re channeling until you’re there!

Join Kelly Jones for a fun, upbeat yoga class at Hardywood! Get ready to workout and have a good time. Then keep the fun moving with beer and pizza.

About Kelly Jones

Kelly is a Richmond native who recently moved back after living in Austin, Texas for the last decade. Kelly's yoga practice began slowly at the Midlothian YMCA in her early teens and continued through her time at VCU. After graduating she was lackadaisical about her practice until 2017 when a fire was lit through her discovery of hot power vinyasa. Yoga quickly went from once a month practice to daily practice. Yoga began to transform her life in ways she'd never imagined. It created a space for self-awareness, healing, and growth that came exactly when she needed it.
Kelly recognized what a crucial part yoga began to play in her life physically, mentally, spiritually, while also providing her with the most beautiful new community. She then knew that it set her soul on fire to spread this passion in an attempt to impact just one person the way yoga had changed her life for the good. In 2018 Kelly became a registered 200-hour hot power yoga teacher with Corepower Yoga and has consistently continued her education since through various yoga schools.

Upon returning to Richmond Kelly went on a search for the right studio to call home, trying nearly every studio she could find. From her very first class at 3S she knew she had found her home!

Kelly hopes to bring her students closer to their highest selves beginning on their mat. She encourages growth of the physical and spiritual self and practices presence through breath in her flows. She loves to incorporate her vast love for music into her classes.

Room for Improvement (RFI) formed amid the pandemic when a group of close friends gathered on Sunday afternoons in a socially distant setting to play music. Initially the group was small, and the focus was on identifying what style of music RFI would play. As restrictions eased, additional band members were added who had significant prior experience in bands such as Hedley Lamar, The Mix, Synaptic Gap, and 2.3 Children. With these additions and regular practice sessions, RFI evolved into a fun, well respected band that can rip through a set of classic rock and blues songs (and a few 80s hair band tunes thrown in for fun). RFI will never forget its humble beginnings and strives to make each show the best one yet!

Barstool Rodeo plays classic Widespread Panic setlists from the 1990’s as a tribute to Michael Houser. For each performance they select a show from bygone years according to different factors, the day’s date, or the city/region, or band member’s attendance, or arcane ritual. We'll also provide locally-grown, fresh-cut summer flower fillers and accents that will showcase these beauties in your arrangement. Join us Wednesday evening for a date night, girls' night, or for a little me-time at Hardywood Richmond & surround yourself with bright, beautiful summer blooms! Hardywood Richmond has a wide variety of beverages and food including beer, wine, cider, cocktails, non-alcoholic options, wood-fired pizza, pretzel bites, and more! We'll provide all the gorgeous flowers and materials you'll need, as well as demonstrate how to create a beautiful flower arrangement. Bring your friends, partners, family, and colleagues, or come alone for a little self-love and learn to design with these lovely, summer blooms. These classes usually last around an hour to an hour and a half. Chip's music is best described as a blend of folk, country & Americana, with an emphasis on dark melodies and intricate fingerstyle guitar.

Tristan Dougherty is a folk musician and songwriter based in Richmond, Virginia. By combining meditative, finger-style guitar playing with warm, illuminative lyrics and innovative arrangements, he’s developed a refreshingly original sound that draws on indie, classic country and Appalachian music traditions. Whether performing solo or with his string band, his work reflects a deep reverence for the craft, rooted in the belief that live music is essential to keeping our souls awake and our communities connected.

Introducing our latest beer... Ready for it? It's called The Cruelest Summer. Designed and brewed by one of our Mastermind brewers, Trevor Benante, who found inspiration for this beer from one of his favorite musical artists, Taylor Swift. 

We had a Blank Space in our brew house and wanted to create something with Style... Behold, The Cruelest Summer, a Juicy Hazy IPA using a blend of classic, current, and experimental hops. Cascade, Simcoe, Citra, and HB630 round out the hop blend with an aggressive dry hop schedule that provides a Clean citrus, berry, and peach flavor with a Delicate aroma. This brew is for every beer Lover because it just Hits Different. Don't Blame us if you end up buying a four pack (or three!).

Matt's unique musical style is a result of his ability to use a looper pedal to record and layer live drum beats, bass lines, and guitar parts. With this technique, he creates rich and textured renditions of songs from various genres including classic and contemporary hip hop and R&B. This sets Matt apart from other musicians as he is able to deliver these seemingly impossible covers with just an acoustic guitar.
