Sammy Lee

Sammy Lee

Rooted in blues tradition, Sammy Lee has a soul that wails. Cadence-driven, acoustically inclined, Motown folk is showcased in his pristine and energetic performances, with stylistic nods towards the cities that have provided him with his unique sound. Many vocalists of closely related genres seem tepid and soft spoken by comparison. Sammy offers a shock to the system with a skilled and polished delivery that provides a glimpse into the expertise developed over the many evolutions his career has endured. Over a decade of vocal expertise allows this rough and dirty baritone to stun audiences with a range that bewilders, a devastatingly honest lyrical vulnerability, and a power and range that leaves Sammy in a category all his own. Needing no pretense and no disguise, Sammy’s show is a stripped down and naked performance by design. His thoughts in a world of processed and filtered pretenders?  Less is more, passion speaks for itself, and authenticity reigns.

Namaste Yoga with S3 Yoga

Join Kelly Jones for a fun, upbeat yoga class at Hardywood! Get ready to workout and have a good time. Then keep the fun moving with beer and pizza.

Bring a mat. (if you don't have one, please email- 3SyogaRVA@gmail.com)

About Kelly Jones

Kelly is a Richmond native who recently moved back after living in Austin, Texas for the last decade. Kelly's yoga practice began slowly at the Midlothian YMCA in her early teens and continued through her time at VCU. After graduating she was lackadaisical about her practice until 2017 when a fire was lit through her discovery of hot power vinyasa. Yoga quickly went from once a month practice to daily practice. Yoga began to transform her life in ways she'd never imagined. It created a space for self-awareness, healing, and growth that came exactly when she needed it.
Kelly recognized what a crucial part yoga began to play in her life physically, mentally, spiritually, while also providing her with the most beautiful new community. She then knew that it set her soul on fire to spread this passion in an attempt to impact just one person the way yoga had changed her life for the good. In 2018 Kelly became a registered 200-hour hot power yoga teacher with Corepower Yoga and has consistently continued her education since through various yoga schools.

Upon returning to Richmond Kelly went on a search for the right studio to call home, trying nearly every studio she could find. From her very first class at 3S she knew she had found her home!

Kelly hopes to bring her students closer to their highest selves beginning on their mat. She encourages growth of the physical and spiritual self and practices presence through breath in her flows. She loves to incorporate her vast love for music into her classes.

The Alacranes

Where have I heard that song before? If you answered a Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez movie, then you know the music of Los Alacranes de R.V.A. the newest band in Richmond, Virginia featuring Paulo Franco on guitar and vocals, Paul Pearce on lead guitar and vocals, Bryan Martin on bass and vocals and Rob Lytle on drums and vocals. Together, these musicians have decades of experience playing in venues throughout Virginia and the United States.

The band came together one night at a party where Paulo played some of his original songs in Spanish along with one of his favorites, La Malagueña Salerosa. Rob approached Paulo about putting a band together emphasizing songs in Spanish, and the seeds were planted. Rob called Bryan, Paulo called Paul and just like that, a band was born. Rob and Bryan form the rhythm section for Cashmere Jungle Lords and the Bopcats; Rob has also played with Crome Daddy Disco and the Bellevue Rhythmires); Fuzzy with My Son the Doctor; Paul can be seen in his other projects Vexine, For Those About to Rock, and Blue Suede Sun; and Paulo with his solo acoustic project and most recently with the Freightliners.

Whether it be gypsy-esque or like Kerouac's beat up old truck, shaking down the road at midnight, it is at once comforting, and somewhat unknown. Tom Petty meets Jeff Buckley on a homemade license plate guitar. He is sponsored by Breedlove Guitars.

HARDYWOOD PRESENTS -- Trongone Bros & Friends-giving!

**Doors at 6pm. Show at 7pm. $17adv/$20dos.** With Special Guests — SOUL STRANGERZ

Buy Tickets HERE.

TRONGONE BRO’S & FRIENDS-GIVING 2024: After a mysterious and sun-drenched disappearance in the wilds of South Florida, the Trongone Brothers are finally making their grand return to Richmond! What were they up to in those hidden beachside retreats? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: they’re bringing their electrifying Southern Fried Rock and Roll back to Hardwood Park on November 27, 2024 feat. Jonathan Meadows, Ben “Wolfe” White and special guests. Happy Thanksgiving!

Raised on 1970s rock & roll, The Trongone Band create a modern version of a timeless sound. They're a ban of brothers, led by siblings Andrew and John Trongone and inspired by the southern rockers, bluesmen, and guitar heroes whose albums filled their parents' record collection. With Don't Give Up On Love, the Virginia natives showcase their own larger-than-life, long-haired rock music, nodding to their influences while still exploring new territory.

Don't Give Up On Love was produced by Widespread Panic's Dave Schools and recorded on the heels of a European tour that found The Trongone Band playing packed shows in multiple countries. From the swinging grooves of the EP's title track to the late-night electric blues of "Ain't Worth a Dime," these songs mix the classic and the contemporary. The result is a collection of raw, road-tested rock & roll — a worthy follow-up to the band's debut, Keys to the House, influenced by the same legends who sparked the brothers' love for the genre.“
